Hi Govindaraj Natarajan,

1)

Yes, Enabling hot backup option in CMC is not only enough to take backup, and it has to be configured Database Vendor Backup tools to store the data.

Few of the clients they will be performing manual backup by using Import and Export method to take the Backup/Restore CMS or Audir DB.

2)

Maximum Hotback Duration:

Default is set to 240. this setting specifies the maximum amount of time that you actual

the backup . ( from the time when the CMS backup begins to the time when the FRS backup

ends).

We need to find the actual time ( Actual time to Copy CMS+FRS+AUDIT to the backup system) before setting this value.

This value will vary to environment based on the system. This value should be more for the Large environment ( Which will have very Big CMS DB and  huge FRS holds old schedule instances.)

Keep in mind that it is important to understand that this setting needs to be longer than the actual time it takes to back up your repository. If this setting is shorter, it could cause some files in the repository not to be backed up, because the CMS has already deleted the entrees. So it is better to overestimate the time required. Balance this concern against system resources because a high value may slightly increase your FRS file store size by creating orphan files.

Hot Backup syncs the CMS database and Filestore for consistency, hence does not allow files to be deleted from Filestore for a period mentioned in Maximum Hotback Duration. All the orpahn files will be dissapeared, once they cross the Hotbackup duration.

3)

check progress of status on this back up: As per my understanding, it is not possible to check the progress from the BO side. We can check the from DB Backup vendor tools.

PF the below image of for the example.
